Arun Jaitley asks officials to start work on war history
NEW DELHI: Defence Minister Arun Jaitley today directed officials to start the process of bringing out a war history of the Indian armed forces in various formats, including print, digital and celluloid.

He said that considering the enormity of the participation of the Indian soldiers in World War 1 and the number of battles and wars "our soldiers have been privy to, the effort would help in educating future generations on the subject".

Official sources said the Ministry will soon hold a meeting to work out the modalities on how to go ahead.

Noting that scholarly work is required in this regard, Jaitley had last week said, "The United Service Institution of India has said they have a lot of material on some recent wars...So, I don't see why that can't be done."
