The BJP on Wednesday accused the Samajwadi Party (SP) of trying to instigate riots during Prime Minister Modi's rally in Kanpur. BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra on Wednesday said that SP workers and leaders were trying to disturb the social harmony of the city and it just showed the work culture of SP.

"A vehicle with banners and flags of the BJP was damaged by SP workers in Kanpur on Tuesday during the PM's rally and the video was widely shared on social media. It was later found that the vehicle itself was of SP workers and they were trying to instigate riots in Kanpur by doing such acts," Patra told media persons in Delhi.

"It basically shows the work culture of the SP. To establish fear factor among the people, you propagate such kind of videos, and you announce your presence."

Patra said that PM Modi had warned against the red cap and it actually came true.

Police have made four arrests in the case for vandalising a car which had posters of Modi. The four arrested are associated with the SP.
