Army in Pune have rushed five bomb and mine detection teams to Mumbai to deal with the terror situation in the financial capital.

PUNE: The Army here have rushed five bomb and mine detection teams to Mumbai to deal with the terror situation in the financial capital.

Three columns of infantry, including commandos, have also been dispatched to the metropolis, comprising 18 Sikh and 17 Rajputana regiments, an army spokesman said here today.

Heavy security was in force in the entire city and Pune Cantonment area which houses the Army's Southern Command headquarters.

The teams have been drawn from the Khadki Ordnance Factory and Bombay Engineering Group, a Southern Command spokesman revealed.
