Army sends 21 students on educational tour

Army has sent a group of 21 students from here on a seven-day educational tour to Jodhpur and Ajmer.

JAMMU: Army has sent a group of 21 students from here on a seven-day educational tour to Jodhpur and Ajmer.

The tour of Shiksha Sahyog Boys Hostel was flagged off by Chairperson of Family Welfare Organisation, Tiger Division, Jammu, Vandana Sharma, from Satwari Cantonment here, defence spokesperson Col R K Palta said today.

It was organised as part of the ongoing ' Operation Sadbhavana'.

According to Palta, the aim of tour is to showcase the development of country to students and provide them an opportunity to interact with people and eminent personalities, thereby widening their horizon.

The teachers and students interacted with the General Officer Commanding (GOC), Tiger Division and expressed their gratitude to Army for having provided them an opportunity to visit other parts of the country.

Speaking on the occasion, the GOC said the children on tour would give the message of peace and harmony in the places they would visit and learn from the rich cultural heritage.

He also thanked the parents of the children and the school for supporting the efforts of the Army.
