Army gets overwhelming response on day 1 of week-long recruitment drive

NEW DELHI: Following the decision to raise three Territorial Army Engineer units from Jammu and Kashmir, the army has received an overwhelming response on the first day of its week long recruitment drive.

Almost 10,000 Kashmiri youth from various districts arrived at the rally sites for over 700 vacancies. According to officers conducting the rally the record response comes as a pleasant surprise despite the inclement weather.

A similar response is expected in the forthcoming days. The army is raising 2 Territorial units from Kashmir and one from Jammu, primarily for the repair of border fencing.
