Army chief, Antony come face to face

NEW DELHI: For the first time after the Army Chief dragged the government to court, Defence Minister A K Antony and General V K Singh came face to face at a function hosted in honour of Nepalese Deputy Prime Minister Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar.

The Army Chief had filed a petition in the Supreme Court on Monday challenging the government decision on his age issue.

Sources said Minister of State for Defence M M Pallam Raju, Defence Secretary Shashikant Sharma and a number of senior service personnel were present on the occasion.

Earlier today, the Defence Secretary had also held a meeting with the Army Chief in South Block against the backdrop of the ongoing controversy.
