SRINAGAR: Security forces have busted a militant hideout in Kupwara district of north Kashmir, recovering a cache of arms and ammunition.

Army's 17 Punjab unit launched a search operation in Beaswali forests in Kupwara yesterday following information about the presence of a militant hideout in the area, defence sources said today.

They said during the search of the forest area, a cache of arms and ammunition was recovered.

The recoveries include two AK assault rifles, three AK magazines, 221 AK ammunition rounds, six pistols, 96 pistol rounds, 80 rounds of assorted ammunition and eight jackets, the sources said.
