More than a mn people flooded Paris in an unprecedented rally against terrorism, led by dozens of world leaders walking arm in arm as cries of "Freedom" & "Charlie" rang out.

NEW DELHI: India today reaffirmed that it was with those who condemned the attacks in Paris and said it was "appropriately" represented at the solidarity march yesterday in Paris which was attended by many world leaders.

"Government of India was invited... Our Ambassador participated in that like majority of countries who were represented there. This was purely in terms of our logistical requirements at that stage.

"Given that we have vociferously condemned the situation. The External Affairs has written to her counterpart Laurent Fabius and the Prime Minister has spoken to President of France and was among the early ones to condemn it. Make no mistake, our views are very forthright and clear. We are on the side of those condemn this barbaric incident," the Official Spokesperson in the External Affairs Ministry said.

He further said that "as timing and logistic and various other commitments, we have joined that march at an appropriate level".

More than a million people flooded Paris yesterday in an unprecedented rally against terrorism, led by dozens of world leaders walking arm in arm as cries of "Freedom" and "Charlie" rang out. The rally flowed through Paris' iconic streets to mourn the victims of the three days of terror that began with the slaughter of 12 people at the offices of satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo last week.
