LUCKNOW: Samajwadi Party today claimed it will "win 300" out of the 403 seats in the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, saying the appointment of OBC leader Keshav Prasad Mauyra as BJP state chief would help it achieve the target.

"We will get 300 seats in UP Assembly polls and we depend on 'jitaoo' (winnable) and 'tikaoo' (loyal) persons," SP national general secretary and in-charge of the state Shivpal Singh Yadav said here.

He said, "appointment of Keshav Prasad Mauyra, an OBC, as BJP state president would help SP in achieving the target".

Yadav also claimed, "OBCs, Dalits and upper caste are with SP due to development done by its government".
