Apex court wants censor certificates for fest films

The Supreme Court on Wednesday set aside the Bombay high court order which had granted exemptions to film makers from obtaining censor certificates for screening their feature and non-feature films at the National Film Awards (NFA) contests.

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Wednesday set aside the Bombay high court order which had granted exemptions to film makers from obtaining censor certificates for screening their feature and non-feature films at the National Film Awards (NFA) contests. A bench comprising Justice R V Raveendran and Justice Tarun Chatterje, however, said that movies can be sent in a digital form for screening.
