APCC seeks Governor's intervention over relief to farmers
HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee today submitted a memorandum to Governor E S L Narasimhan seeking his intervention in providing relief to farmers whose crops suffered damages during 2014-15 Kharif season.

Claiming that crops in 40 lakh acres have suffered damages this season, the memorandum said that Rs 1,260 crores released by the state government was grossly inadequate.

The government should release Rs 6,100 crores more towards input subsidy and insurance benefit for farmers, it said, seeking the Governor's intervention in the issue.

In a separate memorandum, APCC President N Raghuveera Reddy urged the Governor to direct the state government to take up the issue of allowing unemployed B.Ed candidates to appear for recruitment tests for selection in Secondary Grade Teachers.
