APCC celebrates Quit India Day

Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee celebrated the Quit India Day as August Kranthi Diwas at Gandhi Bhavan.

HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee on saturday celebrated the Quit India Day as August Kranthi Diwas at Gandhi Bhavan.

Speaking on the occassion, APCC president D Srinivas recalled the services of freedom fighters who sacrificed to achieve the independence from the clutches of Britishers.

Mahatma Gandhi's clarion call to "Quit India" inspired the people and ultimately forced the Britishers to leave the country, he said.

He garlanded the portrait of Mhatma Gandhi and honoured the freedom fighters -Katam Laxminarayana, Chandra Prakash, P Siva Ramakrishnaiah, C Madhava Reddy, T C Rajan, Balreddy Musall Naidu and Congres sevadal veterans K Satyanarayana, Dharamchand Tayal, M Krishna and Masulu.

Earlier, Congress Seva Dal volunteers given a guard of honour to the APCC president. K V P Ramachandra Rao, MP, P Sudhakar Reddy, AICC secretary, G Niranjan, D V Satyanarayana Rao, PCC general secretaries were present on the occasion.
