Thakur also referred to the President and the Supreme Court while questioning Gandhi’s approach to the matter. He said the President had asked Gandhi to provide evidence and claimed that the Supreme Court had cautioned him against using the court as a political platform.

He accused the Congress and Gandhi of attempting to threaten India’s judicial system and urged them not to spread anarchy.
Turning to the Congress’s allegations against the Election Commission (EC), Thakur asked Gandhi to present evidence to support his claims.
“I am asking the media, has he given any evidence?” Thakur said, questioning whether Gandhi had produced evidence against the EC.
He said there is a difference between disagreeing with the EC and making allegations against the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC). Thakur urged Gandhi to answer questions before making further accusations.
Thakur also brought up the Emergency imposed by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, accusing the Congress of undermining the Constitution. He said the BJP had tried to protect the Constitution from the Congress during the Emergency.
Referring to the 1989 elections, Thakur asked whether people had forgotten the reported “nakli Gandhi vs asli Gandhi” fight. He also questioned how many polling booths had been captured during that period and called for the events of Indira Gandhi’s tenure to be taught in textbooks.
Thakur further accused the Congress of having a history of ballot paper-related malpractice, linking this allegation to the party’s demand to bring back ballot paper voting.
He said the Congress blamed the Election Commission when it lost elections and challenged Gandhi to provide evidence for his allegations.
“What you see is what you are,” Thakur said.
