Anti-talk Ulfa ultras to target unarmed police now
Anti-talk Ulfa militants under commander in chief Paresh Baruah threatened to target unarmed police officials.

Warning the security forces against fake encounters , assistant publicity secretary of the outfit Arunodoi Asom in a statement said: “Assam police have been killing our unarmed supporters and well wishers serially in the name of fake encounters. The situation has reached such a level that now we are going to target unarmed police officials who are not on duty.”
Police killed a hard core Ulfa cadre Radhum Rabha at Aithan village in Goalpara district on Tuesday. The faction said outfit has been maintaining restrain. “We have been maintaining restraints and abstained from this in the past but we are forced to take such a decision considering the situation.”
However, there is no trace yet for National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) General Manager Anil Kumar Agarwala, who was abducted from near Bhalukpong in Assam on Saturday last. There is reportedly extortion demand of Rs 20 crore dashed by the Songbijit faction of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) for the release of the official.
Agarwala was posted for a power project in Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh. Secretary Home GD Tripathy told ET: “We have got some good leads and we are working on to rescue the official.”
