Another live bomb found in Surat

The police on Wednesday found another live bomb in the Kapodara area in Surat, just hours after a shopkeeper spotted a bomb in the Baroda prestige locality in Varacha, which houses the 70-crore diamond polishing market.

NEW DELHI: The police on Wednesday found another live bomb in the Kapodara area in Surat, just hours after a shopkeeper spotted a bomb in the Baroda prestige locality in Varacha, which houses the 70-crore diamond polishing market.

The bomb in the Kapodara area was found hanging on top of a tree. As many as twenty bombs have been found in Surat so far since Tuesday.

Earlier, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi visited Surat to review the situation where yet another live bomb was found and later defused. ( Watch )

The bomb was spotted by a shopkeeper in the Baroda prestige locality in Varacha, which houses the 70-crore diamond polishing market.

On Tuesday, at least 18 low-intensity bombs were found and defused by the police. Recovery of yet another bomb created panic among the people of Surat.

Schools, colleges and shopping malls remained closed on Wednesday as a precautionary measure.
