Announcement of BJP-Sena deal any moment: Maharashtra BJP chief
MUMBAI: The BJP and Shiv Sena have ‘almost’ agreed to a seat sharing formula for the forthcoming Assembly polls and only a ‘formal announcement’s is awaited, said Maharashtra BJP chief Chandrakant Patil on Monday.

“The alliance between all the parties has been almost formalized,” said Patil. “The formula for the seat sharing has been finalised, and the announcement will be made soon,” he said.

While Patil said that talks have concluded, sources however claimed that BJP and Sena are still fighting over two seats; the Sena has staked claim from Mann in Satara and Belapur in Navi Mumbai where the BJP has put up an NCP and Congress candidate to contest on BJP tickets.

BJP wants former Congress MLA Jaykumar Gore to contest from Satara, and ex-NCP leader Ganesh Naik from Belapur. But the Sena is not ready to let go off these two seats.

On Monday evening, CM Devendra Fadnavis held a meeting with Patil and MLA Girish Mahajan to find a way out of this impasse. Fadnavis left for Nagpur after the meeting and sources claimed that he would either meet or talk to Sena president Uddhav Thackeray to resolve the issue.
