Anna Hazare undergoes medical check-up before fast

GURGAON: Four days before his protest against the Centre's Lokpal Bill in the capital, Anna Hazare underwent a thorough medical check-up at Medanta Medicity on Friday.

Dr RR Katliwaas, chairman of clinical and preventive cardiology at Medanta, confirmed that Anna was admitted in the hospital on Thursday night. "This is only a routine check-up and he will be discharged on Saturday after we receivehistest reports," he said.

On Saturday, Anna is expected to join the farmers who have been protesting in Mewat. They feel shortchanged after receiving a paltry compensation of Rs 16 lakh per acre for their land acquired by the Haryana government.

Haryana Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) has acquired the land to develop an Industrial Model Township (IMT) on the lines of Manesar.
