Anna Hazare fighting corruption with Chautala, Bhajan Lal sons: Digvijay Singh
Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh has cautioned Anna Hazare from being swayed by his 'anti-Congress' colleagues Shanti Bhushan, Prashant Bhushan and Arvind Kejriwal.
Singh also questioned Hazare's silence during the NDA regime. "What is being seen now is that you have been strongly opposing Congress and, as against this, you have been praising BJP's Narendra Modi despite the fact that there is no Lokayukta in Gujarat for the past nine years," Singh said in a four-page open letter to Anna written on the eve of the Hisar bypoll. "The talk is that BJP wants to make you a candidate in the Presidential election next year. You become a candidate, but beware of the lofty promises of BJP, which is in the habit of leading people up the garden path," the Congress leader sought to caution Anna.
Singh said Anna's 'clean image' was being "milked by people around him to further their interests and anti-Congress ideology. Be it Shanti Bhushan or his son Prashant, or your colleague Arvind Kejriwal, all these people have been opposed to Congress. These people are taking benefit of your clean character for their own political gains," he said in a direct attack on Team Anna.
Singh questioned Anna's wisdom in standing along side the sons of Chautala and Bhajan Lal in the Hisar campaign, wondering whether he was oblivious of the alleged corrupt acts they had been associated with.
