Anil Goswami sacking a message to bureaucrats: Kiren Rijiju
NEW DELHI: Sacking of Anil Goswami as Home Secretary is a message of the Narendra Modi government to bureaucrats that such misdemeanour would not be tolerated, Union minister Kiren Rijiju said today.

"A message has been sent by our government that such acts will not be taken lightly," the Minister of State for Home told reporters here a day after Goswami was sacked by the government.

Goswami had allegedly attempted to influence the CBI not to arrest former Union minister Matang Sinh in the Saradha scam case.

Asked whether the NDA government has stoked a controversy by removing the senior bureaucrat, Rijiju dismissed it saying there was no controversy.

"There is no controversy. He was a good officer but I can't comment on what had happened," he said.

Goswami was sacked yesterday and senior IAS officer L C Goyal appointed as new Home Secretary.
