Andhra Pradesh to spend Rs 25,000 crore on welfare of weaker sections
Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister Y Ramakrishnudu today said the State Government is spending Rs 25,000 crore for the welfare and development of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes.

The TDP-led Government is taking several steps for the uplift of ST/SC and BCs. It has earmakred a sum of Rs 25,000 crore towards their welfare and development over the next few years, he said.
He was speaking at `Chandranna loan mela' distribution programme at Peddapuram, where Home Minister N Chinnarajappa and Social Welfare Minister R Kishore Babu were also present.
Panchayat Raj Minister C Ayyannapatrudu said Rs 700 crore has been sanctioned under SC/ST sub-plan and this amount will be utilised for laying roads and drains in SC/ST colonies.
