Andhra Pradesh to select capital developer via swiss challenge
HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh will select the master developer for the capital city it plans to build at Amaravathi near Vijayawada through the Swiss Challenge method.

In Swiss Challenge, a private entity submits an initial proposal. Basic information in the proposal will be made public, allowing others to make counter proposals.

The original bidder can match or better any higher bids to land the project. If it fails to do so, the next best bidder will get the project. The AP government said the process will be as prescribed in the AP Infrastructure Development Enabling Act, 2001. The municipal administration and urban development department will receive proposals from competent and experienced developers.

The infrastructure authority chaired by the chief secretary will carry out the due diligence before the proposal is appraised and put up for challenge.
