Andhra Pradesh to celebrate Republic Day at Vijayawada

VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh chief secretary IYR Kirshna Rao here said the state will celebrate Republic Day for the first time in Vijayawada, the new capital post bifurcation of the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh.

In a review meeting with Director General of Police J V Ramudu and other officials held here yesterday, Rao said the celebrations will be held at Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium.

Governor ESL Narasimhan will hoist the tricolour and receive the guard honour from police.
