This is the fifth consecutive day of reporting over 10,000 cases after recording five-digit cases a day for three consecutive days last week.
The state also suffered one of the highest daily deaths during the last 24 hours at 97, which takes the total death toll to 2,036 so far.
Andhra reported 9,097 recoveries over the last 24 hours to take the total recovered so far to 1,38,712 persons while it saw 87,112 active cases by Sunday.
AP tested 62,912 samples over the last 24 hours, which takes the total to 24,87,305 tests thus far, the fourth-highest in India after Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra. Andhra Pradesh has reported 46,579 tests per million population as against the national average of 17,380 tests.
Over the past 24 hours, East Godavari (1,543), Kurnool (1,399), and West Godavari (1,132) districts reported new cases in four-digits, while the rest 10 districts of AP recorded new Covid positive cases in three-digits.
The state has surpassed the national positive rate at 9.16% on Sunday as against the national average of 8.93%. Andhra saw a recovery rate of 60.88% as against the national average of 68.78% while reporting a mortality rate of 0.89% against the national average of 2.01%.
