Andhra Pradesh reports over 10,000 new COVID-19 cases, crosses 1.86 lakh mark

AP tested 60,576 samples over the last 24 hours, which takes the total to 22,35,646 tests thus far, the fourth-highest in India after Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra. Over the past 24 hours, East Godavari (1,544), Kurnool (1,368), and Anantapur (1,260) reported new cases in four-digits, while the rest 10 districts recorded new Covid positive cases in three-digits.
Andhra Pradesh has reported 41,866 tests per million population as against the national average of 15,490 tests, with a positivity rate of 8.34% as against the national average of 8.87%. The state reported a recovery rate of 55.97% as against the national average of 67.18% and a mortality rate of 0.90% against the national average of 2.09%.
