Andhra Pradesh reports 7,665 new cases, crosses 2.35L mark in Covid-19 cases

HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh on Monday reported 7,665 new Covid positive cases, giving a break to its record of over 10,000 new Covid cases a day for five consecutive days last week. The total cases reached 2,35,525 cases.

The state suffered 80 deaths during the last 24 hours, which takes the total death toll to 2,116 so far.

Andhra reported 6,924 recoveries over the last 24 hours to take the total recovered so far to 1,45,636 persons while it saw 87,773 active cases by Monday.


AP tested 46,999 samples over the last 24 hours, which takes the total to 25,34,304 tests thus far, the fourth-highest in India after Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra.

Over the past 24 hours, East Godavari (1,235) reported new cases in four-digits, while the rest 12 districts of AP recorded new Covid positive cases in three-digits.

Andhra Pradesh has reported 47,459 tests per million population as against the national average of 17,724 tests. The state has surpassed the national positivity rate at 9.29% on Monday as against the national average of 9.01%.
