Andhra Pradesh government officer has assets worth nearly Rs 3 crore
Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today unearthed assets worth over Rs 2.83 crore of a Special Officer working in Andhra Pradesh's Urban Land Ceiling Department who was arrested.
A case of disproportionate assets has been registered against D Venkateswar Rao, posted in Vishakapatnam, after ACB's simultaneous searches at his office and residences in Vishakapatnam, Hyderabad and Khammam, an ACB official said.
The searches led to finding of gold and ornaments, seven flats in Hyderabad, two plots in Vishakapatnam, seven housing plots, two acres of land in Vishakapatnam and 1.25 acres in Ranga Reddy district, among other assets, belonging to Rao, he said.
The market value of these assets would be more than Rs 3 crore, the official said, adding the accused officer has been arrested.
