Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy meets Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi

NEW DELHI: Amid the Telangana tangle, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy today met Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and is understood to have discussed the long-pending Cabinet reshuffle and the current political situation in his state.

Reddy met Gandhi, her son Rahul Gandhi and other Congress leaders and Union ministers during his day-long visit to the capital.

During the meeting with Sonia, sources said, Reddy discussed the impending reshuffle of his Cabinet and High Command's nod to fill up vacant positions in various boards in the state. However, it was not clear whether the nod was given to him.

The meeting also comes in the backdrop of speculation that Kiran Reddy might be shown the door as the Congress grapples with the contentious Telangana issue as well as challenge from rebel Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.

However, Reddy has been maintaining that he will complete his full term and will also bring the party back to power in 2014.

With Rahul, the chief minister discussed issues relating to Andhra Pradesh Youth Congress.
