Andhra Pradesh Assembly adjourned over proposed power tariff hike
HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly was adjourned soon after it met for the day after an unrelenting Opposition--YSR Congress--stalled the proceedings against the proposed hike in power tariff today.

The YSR Congress members gave an adjournment motion on the proposed hike which was rejected. They then trooped into the Well of the House and raised slogans on the issue.

Legislative Affairs Minister Y Ramakrishnudu said that the government is ready to make a statement on the issue and urged the Opposition to let the House transact its business.

As the protests continued, Speaker K Sivaprasad Rao adjourned the House briefly.

Opposition members returned today after staying away from the House for three days following suspension of eight of its MLAs for alleged unruly behaviour.

The Opposition members had not attend the House in protest against the suspension and alleged unfair attitude of the Speaker.
