Andhra plans Davos type global forum at Amaravati

Concluding the two-day CII Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam on Saturday evening, Naidu said India’s leading trade body Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has agreed to collaborate with AP on the initiative.
The Southern Indian state is currently in talks with the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), part of the union ministry of commerce and industry, for collaboration to organise global economic forums on annual basis, he said.
"I want to bring the industry, academicians, politicians, bureaucrats, media, governments, technology innovators and social activists onto a Davos type of global economic discussion forum for debate, delve and exchange ideas to help improve governance," said Naidu.
The AP chief minister said the idea was to build a permanent global economic discussion forum based out of the proposed Greenfield capital city Amaravati and make it an annual event.
"Most likely, this Davos type of global economic discussion forum will begin to operate out of Amaravati from next year," Naidu said.
