AMU has not banned any newspaper, says Press Council chief
The former Supreme Court judge said a lot of pressure had been put on him since yesterday to condemn AMU VC by various media persons but he refused to do so.
"I just spoke on the mobile with the Vice-Chancellor," Katju said in a statement here.
He said he asked the VC whether he has issued any order banning a particular English daily. "He (VC) said he has not issued any such order and that a villification campaign is being carried on against him by some people," the statement added.

"I said I will not issue any such statement until I ascertain the correct facts," he said.
