In 2006, nearly 60 lakh tourists had come to Gujarat but last year nearly 2.54 crore tourists visited the state, Patel claimed.

He further claimed that country's tourism growth has stopped at 6.7 per cent, but Gujarat tourism growth has peaked at 13 per cent, and Modi has allocated Rs 483 crore fund to improve basic infrastructure at tourist places in the state.
