NEW DELHI: Actor Amitabh Bachchan on Friday announced his support to making the state of Haryana tuberculosis free in association with Dr Naresh Trehan promoted Medanta Medicity. "As a TB survivor, I wish to support in making the state of Haryana TB free with help from Medanta Medicity," the actor said.

The exercise has been launched in collaboration with the Government of Haryana.

"After polio, we need to make India tuberculosis free and if my name can help in that, I'll do all I can," the country's biggest superstar said.

The hospital has set up mobile vans which can test up to 50 people a day and X rays can diagnose if suspected patients have TB almost immediately after they have been screened, a company statement said.
