Amit Shah woos Assam voters with vows to stop infiltration by Bangladeshis
GUWAHATI: BJP's national president Amit Shah raked up the issue of illegal influx from Bangladesh, a move which is being perceived as a bid to polarise voters. Shah challenged Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi to declare in their election rallies that illegal immigration will stop in Assam.

Shah addressed as many as four rallies in Assam on Monday and accused the ruling Congress of using the illegal immigrant as a vote bank."Sonia and Rahul will campaign in Assam shortly. I challenge them to say that they will stop Bangladeshi infiltration. They will never sayso as the Congress use illegal infiltrators for vote bank."

Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to address three public meetings on March 29 and Sonia Gandhi is expected to campaign on March 30.

Shah said illegal immigration will stop once power comes to a government of the indigenous people. "Congress and All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) have a tacit understanding," Shah said.
