MANGALURU: BJP's membership campaign in Dakshina Kannada district is expected to get a boost with the scheduled visit of party's national president Amit Shah to the city on January 27, party district president K Pratap Simha Nayak has said.

Shah would be addressing a public meeting in the city after attending the 'Mahamastakabhisheka' (bathing of Bhagwan Bahubali's statue with libations like milk, sugarcane juice and sandal paste) in Karkala being held from January 21 to 31, he said in a statement here.

Nayak said the party had a target to enroll four lakh members in the district through a door-to-door campaign which was already in progress. Conventions of active party workers would be held in all constituencies in the district, he said.
