Gearing up for the Lok Sabha polls, Union home minister Amit Shah will address a mega rally in Kolkata on November 29, the first after 2021 assembly polls. The BJP leader is likely to focus on the deprived people from districts who did not receive houses under the PM Awas Yojana, widow pension and dues from other central schemes through the Trinamool Congress government in Bengal, BJP sources claimed.

Trinamool supremo Mamata Banerjee recently threatened to sit on a dharna in New Delhi for deprived workers under MGNREGA scheme if funds are not released by the central government before the Lok Sabha polls.

Leader of opposition in state assembly Suvendu Adhikari addressed rallies on Monday in Birbhum district and Hooghly's Singur while BJP state president Sukanta Majumdar also participated in a rally and meeting in Kolkata.
