Shah, who expressed hope that BJP would win the next assembly elections in the state with two-thirds majority, accused the Trinamool Congress government of misrule, corruption and promoting infiltration, which he said altered Bengal's "demography dangerously". The state's ruling party is using infiltrators as vote bank, the union minister, on a three-day visit to Bengal, told journalists in Kolkata.
Shah said the Bengal government ignored his seven letters for allotment of land to BSF for border fencing. "Now BSF is accused of not being able to stop illegal infiltration. In the absence of proper barbed wire fencing, how would BSF be able to put in place effective border security," he asked. Shah said every infiltrator will be deported once BJP is voted to power in the state.
Shah assured the Matua community that voting rights of those who have applied for citizenship under the Citizenship (Amendment) Act will be preserved. "Every refugee, who has come to India, will be treated as a citizen. This is BJP's promise. No one can harm them. Not even Mamata Banerjee," he said. Shah said BJP would end the "misrule" of the Trinamool and the "syndicate-raj" after coming to power.
