Union home minister Amit Shah on Monday said Narendra Modi as PM has taken forward UP ex-CM Kalyan Singh's objectives of construction of a Ram Temple, welfare of the poor and empowerment of the backward class.

He urged the people to help the BJP win all 80 seats in 2024 polls to show that UP is an "impregnable fortress" of the party, in what he said will be a true tribute to Singh. Shah was addressing a gathering in Aligarh on the occasion of Singh's death anniversary. Singh was BJP's first OBC Hindutva icon who played a key role in the Ramjanmbhoomi movement.
