Amit Shah meets NCP's Sunil Tatkare amid ministerial tussle

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, currently on a two-day visit to Maharashtra, had lunch at the residence of senior NCP MP and state party chief Sunil Tatkare in Raigad on Saturday. The meeting comes at a sensitive time, with growing friction between BJP allies-Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar's NCP-over key ministerial roles.

The lunch holds political significance as tensions persist over the guardian minister posts in Raigad and Nashik. Earlier this year, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis revoked the appointments of BJP's Girish Mahajan and NCP's Aditi Tatkare (Sunil Tatkare's daughter) as guardian ministers for Nashik and Raigad within 24 hours of announcing them.

The Shiv Sena has demanded the Raigad post, citing its MLA majority in the district, and has also pushed for its own representative in Nashik. The NCP, however, is holding its ground, leading to a tug-of-war within the alliance.
