LUCKNOW: Criticising Rahul Gandhi's comments on demonetisation, BJP chief Amit Shah said that the Congress vice president had "come in a luxury car to withdraw Rs 4,000".

"Has anyone seen one coming in a luxury car to withdraw Rs 4,000 for daily expense from an ATM," Shah quipped when he was asked to for a comment on Rahul standing in queue to exchange old notes.

Hailing the decision, Shah said demonetisation would hit terrorism, Naxalism, fake currency rackets and illegal narcotic trade. In the same vein, he said it would benefit everyone and help keep elections clean.

However, the BJP chief admitted that there were teething troubles due to the move and that for a few days the poor and downtrodden would have to suffer. However, he assured that every effort was being made to remove the hurdles. Shah on Saturday launched "UP's Mann Ki Baat", one of the several BJP campaigns in run up to the state elections to be held next year.
