Amit Shah hits out at Congress in Gujarat Assembly
After criticising Congress in the Assembly, Shah made a courtesy call on the opposition leader Shankarsinh Vaghela. Shah also attended a meeting of the state BJP leaders.

Taking part in the assembly proceedings, BJP national president Amit Shah took a dig at the Congress and said elections were won not by creating ruckus in the House, but by winning people’s hearts. Shah asserted that BJP would win the upcoming Gujarat assembly polls, due later this year.
“You cannot win people’s mandate by creating ruckus in the House. To win the mandate, one must win people’s heart,” Shah said in the assembly. “BJP won all elections here from 1990 to 2016. And, we will win the 2017 polls with more than 150 seats.”
Shah alleged that during earlier regimes notorious bootlegger Latif ’s consent was needed to contest elections while police indulged in unionism and strikes. After making a hardhitting speech, Shah made a courtesy call on the opposition leader Shankarsinh Vaghela.
“It was a courtesy call by Shah, who had come here to attend the assembly. No political issue was discussed,” Vaghela added. Later, Shah attended a meeting of the state BJP leaders at BJP headquarters in the outskirts of Gandhinagar.
