Amit Shah heads to Northeast again, to visit Mizoram, Assam this month

GUWAHATI: Union home minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Mizoram on January 9-10 and Assam on January 24.

Mizoram BJP president Vanlalhmuaka told ET: " The home minister will visit Champai and from there will go to Zokothar on January 9." Zokothar is a border town along the Indo-Myanmar border.

On January 24, Shah will visit Kokrajhar in Assam. He is expected to participate in a government programme.


The next day he will participate in a party programme. He is expected to address public gatherings too. Assam BJP president Ranjit Kumar Dass told ET, " In two days programme, Shah will participate in the government and party programmes. " Shah visited Assam and Manipur recently. He was in Assam from December 25 to 26 and on December 27 he visited Imphal. In Assam, he kick-started BJP's poll preparation for 2021 assembly polls.
