Amit Shah doesn't have right to decide what is anti-national: Irfan Habib
ALIGARH(UP): Noted historian Irfan Habib today said BJP president Amit Shah "does not have the right" to decide what is an anti-national act.

"This right rests with the Constitution of India," the 85-year-old historian told PTI.

Habib said it was ironical that Shah seldom lost an opportunity to dub others as "anti-national" when his own party was repeatedly indulging in acts that went against national interest.

Referring to the controversial one-day ban on NDTV India by the Modi government, Habib said a number of news channels and mediapersons in the country had the courage to speak the truth.

"...and speaking the truth can never be an anti-national act," he said.
