Amit Shah blames opposition for bandh deaths

BJP chief Amit Shah on Wednesday blamed the Congress and other opposition parties for the 10 deaths during Monday’s Bharat Bandh against alleged dilution of SC/ST Act by the Supreme Court. Shah reiterated BJP’s commitment to the Constitution of India.

“I would like to ask when the Prime Minister had given an assurance on the very next day (of the Supreme Court verdict) that the Centre would seek a review, why was a bandh declared? The Congress and opposition parties are responsible for these 10 deaths. Rumours are being spread through social media and media that the BJP is withdrawing reservations. I would like to clarify that neither will the BJP withdraw reservations nor let anyone do so,” said Shah.
He was addressing a rally in Bhawanipatna on day one of his twoday visit to the state.
