Amit Shah & Arun Jaitley flash PM Narendra Modi's DU degree
NEW DELHI: BJP president Amit Shah and finance minister Arun Jaitley on Monday presented a four-time party MLA from Delhi’s Babarpur assembly segment, Naresh Gaur, as a witness to testify that Prime Minister Narendra Modi indeed had travelled to New Delhi in 1974 to pursue his Bachelor in Arts degree.

Before the electronic media could surround Gaur, Shah and Jaitley presented copies of marksheets and degree certificates of BA (from Delhi University) and MA (from Gujarat University) awarded to Modi to put a lid on the controversy surrounding his educational qualifications. It showed that DU awarded BA (division III) to Modi in 1978 and MA (division I) in Entire Political Science from Gujarat University in 1983 as external candidate.

“I am witness that Modi came for an examination in 1974. I lived at ABVP office and he came to stay there as an RSS worker who had come for a Delhi University examination. Modi used to do asanas in the morning then, I remember,” Gaur said. He asserted that the degree certificates presented by Shah and Jaitley were “1000% genuine”. “Kejriwal is a champion liar,” was Gaur’s refrain when asked about the Delhi CM.
