In a social media post Sinha said that Congress is the nastiest and most corrupted political party of the country and is spreading a hate campaign.
"...I want to give a clear message that the post was not aimed to malign Malviya but as a caution not to get entangled in a honey trap, which was first brought to light by Tathagata Roy, ex-president of the State unit. If my post hurts Malaviya and/or undermines my party for such misinterpretation and edited version, I do express my heartfelt sorrow for the same," he said.
Sinha went on to clarify that no corner in the post there is any mention about sexual exploition of women by Malaviya.
"Rather I have there expressed my fear if Mr. Malviya will be drawn to honey trap by the unscrupulous leaders of the party to remain clung to their post despite such debacle in the recently held election. We have bitter experience of such honey trap during the tenure of Mr. Kailash Vijoyborgiya, Mr. Siddhartha Nath Sing, Mr. Pradip Joshi and Mr. Shibprasad," he said.
Congress' demand
Congress' Shrinate on Tuesday demanded at a press conference that the BJP sack Malviya as the head of its IT department over what it claimed were allegations of "sexual exploitation". The opposition party demanded an independent inquiry against Malviya. However, Malviya filed a defamation suit against Malviya and sought Rs 10 crore as civil damages for causing "mental harassment" and an apology for it.
In response to Malviya's suit, Sinha said he won't budge.
"My Facebook post was not aimed at anyone. I wanted to question those state BJP leaders who uses dubious means to please their Delhi bosses so that they can hold on to their posts here. My Facebook post has been misconstrued. I stick to my stand on whatever I have said. I have neither withdrawn my post nor am I going to budge before any threat," he told news agency PTI.
"I have sought time to reply to the legal notice. In the meantime if they initiate any civil or criminal proceedings, I will reply accordingly," Sinha said.
