Amin finds himself in spotlight as interim IPL boss
A little known businessman and a low profile cricket administrator, Chirayu Amin has been thrust into spotlight with his appointment as interim IPL chief.
The recent developments had made clear Lalit Modi's ouster from the post of IPL Commissioner but his replacement surprised everyone.
When the Indian Cricket Board went after Modi's head due to his alleged financial bungling, the speculation was rife that either Ravi Shastri or MAK Pataudi, both IPL governing council members, may be elevated to the post.
But Amin, who has been in good books of almost all the the past BCCI chiefs, was rewarded for his loyalty.
Amin is not only a BCCI Vice-President and Baroda Cricket Association President but also the Chairman and Managing Director of Alembic Pharmaceutical, one of the leading pharma companies of the country.
He made his entry into BCCI in 2004 when he replaced Gujarat Cricket Association president Narhari Amin and since then he has maintained a clean record.
Baroda's Ranji team's performance has improved significantly in his reign.
