Amid talk of rift over seats, Kushwaha to meet Lalu Prasad

Sources tell ET that Prasad himself called Kushwaha for the meeting. Kushwaha is upset with not getting the promised number of seats.

Amidst the talk of a rift among the parties over seat sharing in Grand Alliance in Bihar, RLSP leader Upendra Kushwaha will meet RJD president Lalu Prasad in Ranchi. Prasad is currently being treated at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Ranchi, under judicial custody.

Sources tell ET that Prasad himself called Kushwaha for the meeting. Kushwaha is upset with not getting the promised number of seats. Also, Prasad wants him to put up all Kushwaha candidates from the seats, RLSP will contest in the Lok Sabha polls.

The two leaders are supposed to finalise the number of seats for RLSP in Bihar as well as Jharkhand. Prasad will then separately meet leaders from other parties too. On Friday he met Senior Congress leader Meira Kumar and Jharkhand Congress president Ajoy Kumar. As per jail manuals Prasad can see three visitors in a week.
