New Delhi: Even as the Congress on Thursday appeared to have got the upper hand in its fight against BJP’s ‘poaching attempts’ on its MLAs ahead of the upcoming Rajya Sabha polls, a party MLA, Hardeep Dang, has ‘sent in’ his resignation . However, there was no confirmation of his resignation. According to reports, Dang has accused the state government of not functioning properly and corruption. As per the rules, an MLA should send a straight letter of resignation without making any charges or giving any explanations.

Earlier in the day, AICC provided covering fire by alleging that the Modi regime was trying to destabilise all state governments run by national Opposition parties and called upon the entire Opposition to jointly fight back.

Senior Congress leaders including Ghulam Nabi Azad, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Vivek Tankha and Randeep Singh Surjewala held a news conference to attack the Modi government over the alleged ‘poaching bids’ and accused the BJP of providing chartered flights and five-star hotels to house Congress MLAs.
