Ambedkar centre of BJP's 15-day campaign

To reach out to SCs, the BJP will undertake a fortnight-long campaign beginning later this month to highlight the Constitution and the contribution of its architect, B R Ambedkar

The initiative is being seen as a campaign to rebut Congress claims that Union Home Minister Amit Shah disrespected BR Ambedkar during his Rajya Sabha address.



The Congress has also started the 'Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhan Abhiyan' in every block, district, and state throughout the nation.


Sources in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said the nationwide campaign -- "Samvidhan Gaurav Abhiyan" -- will be launched on January 11, with a focus on districts with a significant population of the Scheduled Castes (SCs).

The BJP has appointed its general secretary Vinod Tawde as convener and deployed its battery of leaders to oversee the campaign across the country.

The BJP will also highlight various programmes and measures of the Narendra Modi government that, it has asserted, were guided by the constitutional values and firmed up the legacy of Ambedkar.
