Amarnath Sangharsh Samiti agrees for peace talks

JAMMU: Shri Amarnath Sangarsh Samiti on saturday said that it is ready to meet Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil individually or selected members of the all-party delegation but will boycott NC leader Farooq Abdullah, PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti and Union Minister for Water Resources Saifuddin Soz.

"We are ready to meet Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil individually as we have put forth our view point before the Centre," spokesperson of the SASS, Ambedkar Gupta said.

There were media reports that Patil want to meet us individually, we are ready to meet him, he said.

We want to meet the central panel and put-forth our point of view over agitation and demand of restoration of land to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB), he said.

However, he said that they would be boycotting the all-party delegation if the Abdullah, Mehbooba and Soz are on the panel.

Kashmiri leaders on the panel know of our demands and agitation, he said adding that we have made the Central leadership aware of the facts.

They (Kashmir leadership) speak venom against Jammu, he said adding that "we will not talk to them as they are responsible for all this issue".

Earlier convenor of SASS, Leela Karan Sharma had said "We will boycott the delegation as Mehbooba, Farooq and (Saifuddin) Soz are part of the team. They are responsible for the Amarnath land issue."
